Road Wise

For Key Stages 1 and 2, this resource promotes a safer lifestyle by helping children to understand how to behave responsibly on the roads.

The Road Wise booklet provides two fun and interactive 60 minute lessons highlighting the importance of pedestrian road safety. Used in conjunction with an on-Park road safety talk at Alton Towers, this resource assists with the teaching of key road safety messages to this influential age group by using practical and fun activities to demonstrate important road safety issues. In addition each resource pack contains four pupil worksheets - Stay Safe When Walking, Identifying Hazards, Crossing the Road and The Green Cross Code.

The resource is endorsed by 'Think!' road safety and 'The Department for Transport'.

 

Science In Action

Science in Action is a resource from Alton Towers to support the National Curriculum for Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Alton Towers has developed its Science in Action initiative with the aim of bringing scientific principles to life using the rides at the Park to demonstrate the theories of speed, motion, forces and energy.

  

Design and Technology in Action 

Focussing on Planning, Structures, Motion/Mechanisms, Systems and Controls - this is a resource from Alton Towers to support the National Curriculum for Design and Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Alton Towers has developed its Design and Technology in Action initiative with the aim of bringing text book theories to life using the rides at the Park to demonstrate the planning processes, structures, motion/mechanisms and systems and controls.

 

Business of Leisure 

This comprehensive resource is in the format of a CD-Rom which can be used with an interactive whiteboard.

The resource supports the study of Business Studies and Leisure and Tourism at GCSE and A-level (KS 4+).

Using the park as a model for a successful leisure business, each section of the resource focuses on key study areas such as Marketing, Promotion, Customer Service and Alton Towers as a business.
